Is your Shopify store ready for AI shopping agents?

An agentic commerce audit checks whether the information and purchase options behind your Shopify store are ready for customers shopping with AI assistants. Market Jack compares your storefront with the relevant admin settings, identifies conflicts and purchase-flow problems, and can implement and verify the tune-ups you approve.

The starting question is practical: can a shopper get the right product, at the right price, with the right expectations about delivery and returns?

A polished product page is only one part of the picture

An owner may ask, “Can customers buy from us through AI?” The useful follow-up is, “Which products, through which channel, using which information?”

Shopify describes agentic storefronts as a way for customers to discover and purchase products through AI channels. Availability and checkout behavior depend on the channel and the store. That makes a store-specific review more useful than a general readiness score. See Shopify’s agentic storefront overview.

Your product page, stored description, channel listing and customer-support answers may have changed at different times. A newer section on the visible page does not establish that every other source was updated. The audit follows that information and the buying journey together.

What we check first

1. Do the product facts agree?

We select representative products and compare titles, materials or ingredients, sizes, variants, prices and availability across the visible page and the sources available in Shopify. We check whether important facts exist as readable text or only inside images.

For example, a product sold in two sizes might still have one fixed size in its description. That is an inconsistency to resolve with the owner. The answer is to confirm the correct fact and its controlling field, then check the affected surfaces again.

2. What information reaches the sales channel?

We inspect the relevant product mappings and channel status. The source saved in Shopify, the mapping preview and the receiving channel’s accepted data are different checkpoints.

We also look behind completion percentages. A list of missing descriptions may include drafts or internal products that should never be distributed. The goal is complete information for the right products, with deliberate exclusions where needed.

3. Do shipping, returns and store answers agree?

We compare FAQ copy, canonical policy pages, checkout policy text and available shipping settings. We separate processing time from delivery time and check whether a return answer changes for an unopened purchase.

Shopify’s built-in Knowledge Base lets merchants review and publish facts used by AI agents. We review the answers themselves, their sources and their published status. A draft contact answer is different from a live one; publishing every draft is not a substitute for checking it. Shopify explains the Knowledge Base workflow here.

4. Are restricted products in the right places?

Stores may have wholesale items, service products, testers or private ordering pages. We compare their intended audience with ordinary sales-channel settings and any separate agentic catalog publication controls.

A storefront password gate and a catalog listing answer different questions. We record what each control shows and what still needs an authorized channel test. A configuration concern should not be reported as a proven access bypass.

5. Does the purchase option survive the journey?

We check the paths that matter to your store: a normal item, a subscription, a bundle or a product that needs customer input. The review follows the selected variant, price and purchase option through the agreed test steps.

Channel support varies. For example, Shopify’s current Google AI checkout guidance excludes bundles and subscription-only products; products offering both purchase types can use the one-time option. We check current requirements before recommending a route. Review Shopify’s Google channel guidance.

For subscriptions, we distinguish new sign-ups from existing renewals and any payment migration. Finding a selling plan does not prove that its storefront selector is published or that the owner wants new subscriptions enabled.

6. What can the numbers actually tell us?

We record the reporting period, channel and selected metric. An active channel is not proof that every product can be purchased there. A low session count is a baseline, not evidence that a particular content issue caused lost sales.

We also check the limits of the available measurement. Shopify documents different pixel behavior for Google’s AI checkout, so we avoid treating one analytics screen as a complete account of the buying journey.

A useful check you can do yourself

Pick one important product and answer these questions from the live store:

  1. Are its size, price and important product facts clear without opening an image?
  2. Do the FAQ and checkout policies give the same answer about shipping and an unopened return?
  3. Can you clearly choose the intended one-time or subscription option?
  4. Does your selected variant and price remain correct in the cart?
  5. Do you know which channels should carry this product?

Keep the exact page and answer that raised a concern. Stop before placing an order. That gives a reviewer a useful starting point without requiring you to diagnose the underlying cause.

How Market Jack turns the review into a tune-up

We agree on the products, channels, access and questions to review. Then we inspect the storefront and relevant admin settings, separating confirmed findings from unresolved checks. You receive priorities and the evidence behind them.

If you want implementation, we scope the changes with you. That can include correcting product descriptions, aligning policy answers, reviewing Knowledge Base facts, adjusting approved channel eligibility or repairing purchase-option presentation. Business facts and commercial rules need your approval before replacement copy or settings go live.

Verification returns to the original problem: saved fields, visible content, mapped information and the affected purchase path. The handover records what changed, which checks passed and what still depends on an app, channel or owner decision. It does not promise rankings, AI recommendations or a sales increase.

Ask Market Jack to review your store

You do not need to know which setting is wrong. Send your store address and the question you want answered. We will discuss the scope and fee before paid work begins.
